In this module, we will explore different methodologies for investigating and understanding problems. We will learn about different research methods, including visually-aided interviews, and visual representations and investigation, such as network or iceberg maps.

Designing strategies for change requires a thorough understanding of possible interventions and their effects and interactions. It also requires the ability to prioritise and decide what to do; and what not to do. In this module, we will learn about systemic and institutional redesign theories, leverage points, and design levers, and how to spot, test, and activate them.

Strategy has to appeal to stakeholders at a very personal and human level for them to buy into it. There are two important methods to activate stakeholders toward change and action: Storytelling for impact and stakeholder mobilisation for change. In this module, we will explore the science behind storytelling, different methods to bring structure to the creative process of designing stories, and methods for activating impact beacons that shine brighter than any convincing dataset.
